As you are aware, the orthodontic speciality was fully recognised in our country in the year 1999. This year, four candidates applied to the speciality examination. These candidates were trained and had their education in a three-year, full-time, post-graduate course (following the Bologne requisites) in the Department of Orthodontics of the Faculty of Dentistry – University of Porto, Portugal. This Department has idoneity granted by the College of Orthodontics of the Portuguese Dental Board.
